1- We reviewed the argument between Reb Yehuda and the Chachomim concerning if a Sukkah can be be \u05e7\u05d1\u05e2. Meaning a permanent structure.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

2- We came across the famous saying:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>\u05d0\u05e4\u05d9’ \u05e9\u05d9\u05d7\u05ea \u05ea\u05dc\u05de\u05d9\u05d3\u05d9 \u05d7\u05db\u05de\u05d9\u05dd \u05e6\u05e8\u05d9\u05db\u05d4 \u05dc\u05d9\u05de\u05d5\u05d3<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Reclaiming<\/p>\n

3- Discussed the life of Reb Yaakov Yosef Katz, the senior \u05ea\u05dc\u05de\u05d9\u05d3 of the \u05d1\u05e2\u05dc \u05e9\u05dd \u05d8\u05d5\u05d1. The sign that he received from the \u05d1\u05e2\u05e9\u201d\u05d8\u00a0 that would precede his passing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

[Related the old Jewish quip about the peasant that was asked by the Rov as to why he is dancing on Simchas Torah when he has not learned all year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The peasant\u2019s response:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Former<\/p>\n

On Yom Kippur I said <\/span>\u05e2\u05dc <\/span>\u05d7\u05d8\u05d0 \u05e9\u05d7\u05d8\u05d0\u05e0\u05d5 \u05dc\u05e4\u05e0\u05d9\u05da \u05d1\u05db\u05e4\u05ea \u05e9\u05d5\u05d7\u05d3<\/span>, (sin of accepting bribes). Well,\u00a0 it obviously didn\u2019t refer to me personally since I do not sit on Din Torahs\u2026… But I said it anyway since \u2018we\u2019re all one and in it together\u2019, so I\u2019m dancing on Simchas Torah as well\u2026\u2026.]<\/span><\/p>\n

4- One of <\/span>Reb Yaakov Yosef\u2019s books is the Toldos Yakov Yosef. <\/span><\/p>\n

Story of the \u05e0\u05d5\u05d3\u05e2 \u05d1\u05d9\u05d4\u05d5\u05d3\u05d4 that opposed \u05d7\u05e1\u05d9\u05d3\u05d5\u05ea and placed this \u05e1\u05e4\u05e8 under the foot of his table!<\/span><\/p>\n

When \u05e0\u05d5\u05d3\u05e2 \u05d1\u05d9\u05d4\u05d5\u05d3\u05d4 met once a \u05ea\u05dc\u05de\u05d9\u05d3 of Reb Yaakov Yosef he inquired about the character of his teacher. The student replied: My master was so humble that if you placed him<\/strong> <\/em>under the table he would also take it in stride\u2026\u2026.<\/span><\/p>\n

5- In the \u05ea\u05d5\u05dc\u05d3\u05d5\u05ea \u05d9\u05e2\u05e7\u05d1 \u05d9\u05d5\u05e1\u05e3, he quotes a \u2018quip\u2019 he once heard about the above saying\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u05d0\u05e4\u05d9’ \u05e9\u05d9\u05d7\u05ea \u05ea\u05dc\u05de\u05d9\u05d3\u05d9 \u05d7\u05db\u05de\u05d9\u05dd \u05e6\u05e8\u05d9\u05db\u05d4 \u05dc\u05d9\u05de\u05d5\u05d3<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"Translation:<\/p>\n

I heard in the name of a great person somewhat figuratively, on our Gemara here: \u00a0\u201c\u05e9\u05d9\u05d7\u05ea \u05d7\u05d5\u05dc\u05d9\u05df \u05e9\u05dc \u05ea\u05dc\u05de\u05d9\u05d3\u05d9 \u05d7\u05db\u05de\u05d9\u05dd \u05e6\u05e8\u05d9\u05db\u05d9\u05df \u05dc\u05d9\u05de\u05d5\u05d3- the mundane Sicha<\/em> or speech, of a Talmid Chochom requires study\u201d.<\/p>\n

From the mundane words of<\/em><\/strong> this person (it is indicative that) he is a only a<\/strong><\/em> Talmid<\/em> Chochom<\/em><\/strong>, (not a \u05d7\u05db\u05dd per se) and he still requires study<\/em><\/strong> from others to become a Chochom. <\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>4- We moved on to the next Mishna and began to discuss the issue of placing the \u05e1\u05db\u05da upon metal or cement.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
