1- Last week, we encountered a \u05d2\u05de\u05e8\u05d0 expressing very unkind words about the conduct of a few of the\u00a0 \u05db\u05d4\u05e0\u05d9\u05dd \u05d2\u05d3\u05d5\u05dc\u05d9\u05dd.<\/p>\n

The \u05d2\u05de\u05e8\u05d0 said that every \u05db\u05d4\u05df \u05d2\u05d3\u05d5\u05dc that made a new \u05e4\u05e8\u05d4 \u05d0\u05d3\u05d5\u05de\u05d4 would destroy the ramp (going up to\u00a0 \u05d4\u05e8 \u05d4\u05de\u05e9\u05d7\u05d4 ) built by his predecessor and build a fancier one.<\/p>\n

The \u05d2\u05de\u05e8\u05d0 mocked at this waste of money and called it, \u05e9\u05d7\u05e6\u05e0\u05d5\u05ea \u2018vain pomposity\u2019!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The\u00a0 \u05d2\u05de\u05e8\u05d0 of this week reverses itself. \u2018How can you say that building a new ramp is \u2018pomposity\u2019 when the righteous \u05e9\u05de\u05e2\u05d5\u05df \u05d4\u05e6\u05d3\u05d9\u05e7 who did two \u05e4\u05e8\u05d4 \u05d0\u05d3\u05d5\u05de\u05d5\u05ea, demolished the first ramp to build a fancier one\u2019?<\/p>\n

One must say, concludes the \u05d2\u05de\u05e8\u05d0, that this act of destroying the old and rebuilding a new one was in honor of the \u05de\u05e6\u05d5\u05d5\u05d4 of \u05e4\u05e8\u05d4 \u05d0\u05d3\u05d5\u05de\u05d4. It was not done to flaunt or to out-do a previous \u05db\u05d4\u05df \u05d2\u05d3\u05d5\u05dc.<\/p>\n

\"The<\/p>\n

It seems that the \u05d2\u05de\u05e8\u05d0 is saying that there is an \u05d0\u05d9\u05e1\u05d5\u05e8\u00a0 to reuse the existing ramp. Meaning that there was no pomposity ever.<\/p>\n

We spoke at length about the fascinating insight of Reb Yosef Engel<\/a> (and here<\/a>) about this phrase since we find that it was only used by \u05e8\u05d1\u05d9 \u05d9\u05d4\u05d5\u05d3\u05d4 , the author\/ compiler of the \u05de\u05e9\u05e0\u05d4.<\/p>\n

\"Two<\/p>\n

While is seems not a humble thing to say \u201cI say\u201d, in reality it showed the humbleness of \u05e8\u05d1\u05d9. Reb Yosef Engel explains that with the \u05d0\u05e0\u05d9 he meant the \u05e9\u05db\u05d9\u05e0\u05d4 and was emphasizing that his entirety being, his knowledge etc, was from above.<\/p>\n

In his lengthy piece, he has a unique explanation of this \u05e4\u05e1\u05d5\u05e7.<\/p>\n

My heart stirs with a good thing. I recite my composition to a king. My tongue is the pen of a ready writer.<\/em><\/p>\n

Briefly, it is \u05d3\u05d5\u05d3 \u05d4\u05de\u05dc\u05da praying for his descendant, \u05e8\u05d1\u05d9<\/a>, who will need to decide if to write the \u05de\u05e9\u05e0\u05d9\u05d5\u05ea on paper.<\/p>\n

And therefore- despite the \u05de\u05e9\u05e0\u05d9\u05d5\u05ea being \u05dc\u05b0\u059d\u05e9\u05c1\u05d5\u05b9\u05e0\u05b4\u0597\u05d9, allowed only to be recited verbally, nevertheless the time necessitates it to jot it down in writing. \u05e2\u05b5\u05a4\u05d8 \u05e1\u05d5\u05b9\u05e4\u05b5\u05ac\u05e8 \u05de\u05b8\u05d4\u05b4\u05bd\u05d9\u05e8\u05c3<\/p>\n
