1 – Our \u05de\u05e9\u05e0\u05d4 states that when entering the \u05d1\u05d9\u05ea \u05d4\u05de\u05e7\u05d3\u05e9 through any of the 13 gates one would do a full \u05d4\u05e9\u05ea\u05d7\u05d5\u05d5\u05d4.
\nWe mentioned the \u05d2\u05de\u05e8\u05d0 in \u05e9\u05d1\u05d5\u05e2\u05d5\u05ea \u05d8\u05d6, \u05d1 that explains the difference between \u05e7\u05d9\u05d3\u05d4, \u05db\u05e8\u05d9\u05e2\u05d4 and \u05d4\u05e9\u05ea\u05d7\u05d5\u05d0\u05d4.<\/p>\n

The Sages taught:<\/p>\n

The term Kidda<\/em> <\/strong>indicates falling upon one\u2019s face, and so the verse states: \u201cThen Bathsheba bowed [vatikkod] with her face to the ground\u201d (I Kings 1:31).<\/p>\n

Keria<\/em> <\/strong>means descending upon one\u2019s knees, and so the verse states with regard to Solomon: \u201cHe rose from before the altar of the Lord, from kneeling [mikero\u2019a] upon his knees\u201d (I Kings 8:54).<\/p>\n

\"Prostration<\/p>\n

Hishta\u1e25ava\u2019a<\/em><\/strong>, this is prostrating oneself while spreading one\u2019s arms and legs in total submission, and so the verse states that Jacob asked, in response to Joseph\u2019s relating of his dream: \u201cShall I and your mother and your brothers indeed come to bow down [lehishta\u1e25avot] to you to the ground\u201d (Genesis 37:10), i.e., spread out completely on the ground.<\/p>\n

\"For<\/p>\n

2 – The \u05de\u05e9\u05e0\u05d4 continues that the family of Rabban Gamliel and of Rebbi \u05d7\u05e0\u05d9\u05e0\u05d4 the \u05e1\u05d2\u05df \u05d4\u05db\u05d4\u05e0\u05d9\u05dd would add a fourteenth<\/strong> time. Not at a gate but right in the \u05e2\u05d6\u05e8\u05d4. Where exactly?<\/p>\n

In front of the room known as the wood storage – \u05d3\u05d9\u05e8 \u05d4\u05e2\u05e6\u05d9\u05dd, since they had a tradition from their forefathers that the \u05d0\u05e8\u05d5\u05df was hidden under the floor of that chamber.<\/p>\n

\"\u05d6\u05d1\u05d5\u05dc\u05d5\u05df<\/p>\n

How did they know? It happened that a Cohen was working in the \u05d3\u05d9\u05e8 \u05d4\u05e2\u05e6\u05d9\u05dd when he saw that a floor tile was different from the others. [He realized that that is where the \u05d0\u05e8\u05d5\u05df was hidden] He went to tell it to a another \u05db\u05d4\u05df but did not finish speaking before he passed away; then they knew with certainty the the Ark was hidden there.<\/p>\n

3 – We mentioned that the Hebrew word for ‘certainty\/clarity’ (for the location of the \u05d0\u05e8\u05d5\u05df) in the \u05de\u05e9\u05e0\u05d4 is \u05d1\u05d9\u05d7\u05d5\u05d3\u00a0 – b’yichud<\/em>.<\/p>\n

In \u05d4\u05d9\u05d5\u05dd \u05d9\u05d5\u05dd of \u05d9\u2019 \u05d0\u05dc\u05d5\u05dc,<\/a> when explaining one of the definitions of \u05d9\u05d7\u05d9\u05d3\u05d5\u05ea by a Rebbe,\u00a0 our \u05de\u05e9\u05e0\u05d4 is mentioned – \u05d9\u05d7\u05d9\u05d3\u05d5\u05ea means \u2018clearly<\/strong>\u2019. To clarify one’s own status<\/p>\n

Translation: Great elders of the Alter Rebbe’s chassidim used to say that yechidus (private audience with the Rebbe) means: “clear<\/strong>,” “designated,” “united.” The sources of these three interpretations are in Shekalim 6:2<\/strong>, Yevamot 62a, and Bereishit Raba 20.<\/p>\n

This means that the idea of Yechidus is:
\n1- To clarify one’s own status; 2- To designate a mode of avoda for him in “turning away from evil” and in the acquisition of fine character traits;3- And that he should bind himself in total oneness, and utterly dedicate himself with all his desires.<\/p>\n

\"ClearUnited\"<\/p>\n

4 – The \u05d2\u05de\u05e8\u05d0 starts with the 3 opinions as to the whereabouts of the \u05d0\u05e8\u05d5\u05df at or before the \u05d7\u05d5\u05e8\u05d1\u05df \u05d1\u05d9\u05ea \u05d4\u05de\u05e7\u05d3\u05e9.
\n1- It was exiled to \u05d1\u05d1\u05dc – and never returned.
\n2- It was hidden under the \u05e7\u05d5\u05d3\u05e9 \u05d4\u05e7\u05d3\u05e9\u05d9\u05dd.
\n3- It was hidden under the \u05d3\u05d9\u05e8 \u05d4\u05e2\u05e6\u05d9\u05dd.<\/p>\n

\"Sixth<\/p>\n

5 – We spoke about the \u05e9\u05d9\u05d7\u05d4 of the Rebbe in regards to the subterranean tunnels where the \u05d0\u05e8\u05d5\u05df was hidden. (#2 or #3 above) based on the phrasing of the Rambam. \u05d1\u05d9\u05ea \u05d4\u05d1\u05d7\u05d9\u05e8\u05d4 4, 1.<\/a>

The Ark was placed on a stone in the western portion of the \u05e7\u05d5\u05d3\u05e9 \u05d4\u05e7\u05d3\u05e9\u05d9\u05dd.\u2060 The vial of manna and Aharon’s staff were placed before it.
\nWhen Solomon built the Temple, he was aware that it would ultimately be destroyed. [Therefore,]\u2060 he constructed a chamber, in which the ark could be entombed below [the Temple building] in deep, maze-like vaults.<\/p>\n

\"Enigmatic<\/p>\n

King Josiah commanded that [the Ark] be entombed in the chamber built by Solomon, as it is said : “And he said to the Levites who would teach wisdom to all of Israel: ‘Place the Holy Ark in the chamber built by Solomon, the son of David, King of Israel. You will no [longer] carry it on your shoulders. Now, serve the Lord, your God.’<\/p>\n

\"Maze<\/p>\n

The Rebbe\u2019s point in short<\/strong> – the subterranean chamber, built by \u05e9\u05dc\u05de\u05d4 \u05d4\u05de\u05dc\u05da, to hide the \u05d0\u05e8\u05d5\u05df was not just a random location\/refuge for the \u05d0\u05e8\u05d5\u05df. Rather it is the proper location for the \u05d0\u05e8\u05d5\u05df for the time of \u05d2\u05dc\u05d5\u05ea.<\/p>\n

In other words – just as when there is a \u05d1\u05d9\u05ea \u05d4\u05de\u05e7\u05d3\u05e9, the proper location for the \u05d0\u05e8\u05d5\u05df is in the \u05e7\u05d5\u05d3\u05e9 \u05d4\u05e7\u05d3\u05e9\u05d9\u05dd, for the time of \u05d2\u05dc\u05d5\u05ea, the designated place for the \u05d0\u05e8\u05d5\u05df is in the subterranean chambers built originally by \u05e9\u05dc\u05de\u05d4 \u05d4\u05de\u05dc\u05da for that particular era.
\nSo in a sense, even at the time of \u05d1\u05d9\u05ea \u05e9\u05e0\u05d9 there was indeed an \u05d0\u05e8\u05d5\u05df in the \u05d1\u05d9\u05ea \u05d4\u05de\u05e7\u05d3\u05e9.
\nFor despite it not being seen in the \u05e7\u05d5\u05d3\u05e9 \u05d4\u05e7\u05d3\u05e9\u05d9\u05dd, it was in the place it was meant to be<\/strong> – in subterranean chamber.<\/p>\n

6 – Half in jest\u2026.. we concluded on note #2 above about the descendants of \u05e8\u05d1\u05df \u05d2\u05de\u05dc\u05d9\u05d0\u05dc and \u05e8\u05b7\u05d1\u05b4\u05bc\u05d9 \u05d7\u05b2\u05e0\u05b7\u05e0\u05b0\u05d9\u05b8\u05d4 \u05e1\u05b0\u05d2\u05b7\u05df \u05d4\u05b7\u05db\u05b9\u05bc\u05d4\u05b2\u05e0\u05b4\u05d9\u05dd that would pause at the front of the \u05d3\u05d9\u05e8 \u05d4\u05e2\u05e6\u05d9\u05dd and do a full extra \u05d4\u05e9\u05ea\u05d7\u05d5\u05d5\u05d4.<\/p>\n

What follows is not meant to be a position on the topic. Just an idea.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

All the other \u05db\u05d4\u05e0\u05d9\u05dd and visitors would not<\/strong> perform this extra \u05d4\u05e9\u05ea\u05d7\u05d5\u05d0\u05d4. Why? Because they didn\u2019t have this family tradition that the \u05d0\u05e8\u05d5\u05df was hidden in the \u05d3\u05d9\u05e8 \u05d4\u05e2\u05e6\u05d9\u05dd.<\/p>\n

They believed that it was either exiled to \u05d1\u05d1\u05dc or it was under the \u05e7\u05d5\u05d3\u05e9 \u05d4\u05e7\u05d3\u05e9\u05d9\u05dd.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

So, imagine hundreds of people walking daily by the \u05d3\u05d9\u05e8 \u05d4\u05e2\u05e6\u05d9\u05dd and observing that only a few that would \u2018block the traffic\u2019 by falling on the floor and performing an extra \u05d4\u05e9\u05ea\u05d7\u05d5\u05d5\u05d4.<\/p>\n

It seems that this contrarian \u05de\u05e0\u05d4\u05d2 was tolerated by all! No one shouted at them:
\n\u2018Move on. Get lost with your beliefs – you are in the minority\u2019.<\/p>\n

Should this attitude of tolerance also apply to the ones that believe that the Rebbe walks into 770 daily and thus feel that they need to make a \u05e9\u05d1\u05d9\u05dc\u2026\u2026.?<\/p>\n
