1- We continued from last week.
\n\u05d9\u05d4\u05d5\u05d9\u05d3\u05e2 \u05d4\u05db\u05d4\u05df<\/a> had an issue with a \u05e4\u05e1\u05d5\u05e7 \u05d7\u05d5\u05de\u05e9.<\/p>\n

Here are some parameters to understand his issue.
\n\u05e7\u05e8\u05d1\u05e0\u05d5\u05ea in general are of two categories.<\/p>\n

Obligatory ones – \u05d7\u05d5\u05d1\u05d4, such as \u05e2\u05d5\u05dc\u05d4, \u05d7\u05d8\u05d0\u05ea and \u05d0\u05e9\u05dd.
\nDonated ones – \u05e0\u05d3\u05d1\u05d4. Such as \u05e9\u05dc\u05de\u05d9\u05dd and \u05e2\u05d5\u05dc\u05d4.<\/p>\n

\"\u05d0\u05d1\u05d9<\/p>\n

A \u05d7\u05d8\u05d0\u05ea or \u05d0\u05e9\u05dd are brought as a \u05db\u05e4\u05e8\u05d4 – sin offering, with part of the animal placed on the \u05de\u05d6\u05d1\u05d7 and the rest (meat and hide) going to the \u05db\u05d4\u05e0\u05d9\u05dd.<\/p>\n

An \u05e2\u05d5\u05dc\u05d4 is all burnt on the \u05de\u05d6\u05d1\u05d7, except for the hide which the \u05db\u05d4\u05e0\u05d9\u05dd keep.<\/p>\n

\nHowever, when discussing the laws of an \u05d0\u05e9\u05dd, where the meat in eaten by the \u05db\u05d4\u05e0\u05d9\u05dd, the \u05e4\u05e1\u05d5\u05e7 surprisingly concludes by saying:<\/p>\n

\u05d0\u05b8\u05e9\u05b8\u05c1\u05dd \u05d4\u05d5\u05bc\u05d0 \u05d0\u05b8\u05e9\u05b9\u05c1\u05dd \u05d0\u05b8\u05e9\u05b7\u05c1\u05dd \u05dc\u05b7\u05d4\u05e9\u05dd.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u05dc\u05d4\u05e9\u05dd usually means, like an \u05e2\u05d5\u05dc\u05d4 , totally consumed on the \u05de\u05d6\u05d1\u05d7.
\nSo how do we reconcile this with an \u05d0\u05e9\u05dd that usually is partly eaten by the \u05db\u05d4\u05e0\u05d9\u05dd?<\/p>\n

2- \u05d9\u05d4\u05d5\u05d9\u05d3\u05e2 \u05d4\u05db\u05d4\u05df explained that the \u05e4\u05e1\u05d5\u05e7 is indeed discussing an \u05d0\u05e9\u05dd. However not the actual and usual \u05d0\u05e9\u05dd, but the extra<\/strong> money that may be left over after one purchases an \u05d0\u05e9\u05dd.<\/p>\n

The extra \u05de\u05d5\u05ea\u05e8 of an \u05d0\u05e9\u05dd and \u05d7\u05d8\u05d0\u05ea , the \u05e4\u05e1\u05d5\u05e7 is telling us, is collected\u00a0 to buy \u05e2\u05d5\u05dc\u05d5\u05ea that are completely placed and burnt on the \u05de\u05d6\u05d1\u05d7 and (only) the hides go to the \u05db\u05d4\u05e0\u05d9\u05dd. Thus, this type of (hybrid) \u05e7\u05e8\u05d1\u05df, brought when there is nothing else to place on the \u05de\u05d6\u05d1\u05d7, is in a sense an \u05d0\u05e9\u05dd (having been originally designated as an \u05d0\u05e9\u05dd) but it is totally consumed by the \u05de\u05d6\u05d1\u05d7 – as the \u05e4\u05e1\u05d5\u05e7 states \u05d0\u05b8\u05e9\u05b8\u05c1\u05dd \u05d4\u05d5\u05bc\u05d0 \u05d0\u05b8\u05e9\u05b9\u05c1\u05dd \u05d0\u05b8\u05e9\u05b7\u05c1\u05dd \u05dc\u05b7\u05d4\u05e9\u05dd.<\/p>\n

3 – Speaking of an \u05d0\u05e9\u05dd we mentioned the famous \u05e8\u05d1\u05d9\u05e0\u05d5 \u05d9\u05d5\u05e0\u05d4 of Girona<\/a>. Here<\/a> and here<\/a>. \u00a0From Chabad- org.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u05e8\u05d1\u05d9\u05e0\u05d5 \u05d9\u05d5\u05e0\u05d4 has an interesting explanation as to why the cost of \u05d0\u05e9\u05dd , brought on a \u05e1\u05e4\u05e7 \u05e2\u05d1\u05d9\u05e8\u05d4, is by far much more expensive than a \u05d7\u05d8\u05d0\u05ea, which is brought on a \u05d5\u05d3\u05d0\u05d9 \u05e9\u05d5\u05d2\u05d2.

\u2018Why is it that the \u05ea\u05d5\u05e8\u05d4 is \u05de\u05d7\u05de\u05d9\u05e8 on an \u05d0\u05e9\u05dd more than a \u05d5\u05d3\u05d0\u05d9?<\/p>\n

My teacher (\u05e8\u05d1\u05d9\u05e0\u05d5 \u05d9\u05d5\u05e0\u05d4) said that when doing \u05ea\u05e9\u05d5\u05d1\u05d4 on a \u05d5\u05d3\u05d0\u05d9 one is truly contrite ,regretful and his repentance is whole heartedly.
\nHowever, when repenting on a \u05e1\u05e4\u05e7, human nature is to come up with many excuses (\u05e1\u05d1\u05e8\u05d5\u05ea) thinking that \u2018perhaps there was no sin committed at all\u2019 and there is no need to repent\u2026.<\/p>\n

So the \u05ea\u05d5\u05e8\u05d4 says that an \u05d0\u05e9\u05dd should be far more expensive, resulting to compel this person to do a proper \u05ea\u05e9\u05d5\u05d1\u05d4\u2019.<\/p>\n

Interesting point about the size of the logs placed on the \u05de\u05d6\u05d1\u05d7. Due to the rather small area of the \u05de\u05e2\u05e8\u05db\u05d4, the logs needed to be an exact \u05d0\u05de\u05d4, to allow an area for the \u05db\u05d4\u05e0\u05d9\u05dd to walk around it.<\/p>\n
