1- As discussed last week,\u00a0 the \u05de\u05e9\u05e0\u05d4 mentions that 300 \u05db\u05d4\u05e0\u05d9\u05dd handled the \u05e4\u05e8\u05d5\u05db\u05ea to the \u05de\u05e7\u05d5\u05d4 for \u05d8\u05d1\u05d9\u05dc\u05d4.<\/p>\n

As mentioned, the \u05d2\u05de\u05e8\u05d0\u00a0 says (Tomid 29a<\/a>) that this number is an exaggeration.<\/p>\n

It was this big!<\/em><\/p>\n

2- In relation to that \u05d2\u05de\u05e8\u05d0, we referred to the mystical words of the \u05e8\u05de<\/a>\u201d<\/a>\u05e2<\/a> of<\/a> Fano<\/a>.<\/a> The Rebbe would very often cite his explanation.<\/p>\n

Briefly, the \u05ea\u05d5\u05e8\u05d4, when describing what the \u05de\u05e8\u05d2\u05dc\u05d9\u05dd said about \u05d0\u05e8\u05e5 \u05d9\u05e9\u05e8\u05d0\u05dc\u00a0 says that it has \u2018large cities with fortified walls reaching the heavens\u2019. \u05e2\u05e8\u05d9\u05dd \u05d2\u05d3\u05d5\u05dc\u05d5\u05ea \u05d5\u05d1\u05e6\u05d5\u05e8\u05d5\u05ea \u05d1\u05e9\u05de\u05d9\u05dd. \u05d3\u05d1\u05e8\u05d9\u05dd \u05d0, \u05db\u05d7<\/p>\n

[This expression is also repeated later \u05d3\u05d1\u05e8\u05d9\u05dd \u05d8, \u05d0 describing \u05d0\u05e8\u05e5 \u05d9\u05e9\u05e8\u05d0\u05dc]<\/p>\n

The \u05d2\u05de\u05e8\u05d0 comments on this and states that the \u05ea\u05d5\u05e8\u05d4 occasionally speaks using \u2018exaggerated terms\u2019.<\/p>\n

The Torah spoke<\/strong> employing exaggerated language, as it is written:<\/strong> \u201cHear, Israel: You are passing over the Jordan this day, to go in to dispossess nations greater and mightier than you, cities great and fortified up to heaven\u201d<\/strong> (Deuteronomy 9:1<\/a>). Does it enter your mind<\/strong> to say that the cities were literally fortified up to heaven? Rather,<\/strong> this is an exaggeration.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>The \u05e8\u05de\u201d\u05e2 says that at a certain level it is no exaggeration at all. It means to say that the fortified walls of \u05d0\u05e8\u05e5 \u05d9\u05e9\u05e8\u05d0\u05dc are so high that they do not allow the 70 \u05e9\u05e8\u05d9\u05dd of the \u05d0\u05d5\u05de\u05d5\u05ea into \u05d0\u05e8\u05e5 \u05d9\u05e9\u05e8\u05d0\u05dc.
