Also discussed what others suggest is the reason for \u05e8\u05d1\u05d9\u2019s approach. Due to the harsh times of \u05de\u05dc\u05db\u05d5\u05ea \u05e8\u05d5\u05de\u05d9 and others (preceding \u05e8\u05d1\u05d9) where the performance of \u05de\u05e6\u05d5\u05d5\u05ea was dangerous, the study of \u05ea\u05d5\u05e8\u05d4 was only in an abstract form. Meaning that it intentionally lacked an explicit mandate and instruction for specific performance. Such as \u201cone needs to put on \u05ea\u05e4\u05d9\u05dc\u05d9\u05df\u201d. Rather it was just a discussion about the particulars. \u2018When <\/u>can one start saying \u05e9\u05de\u05e2 in the evening\u2019.<\/p>\n

2 –<\/p>\n

\u05de\u05b5\u05d0\u05b5\u05d9\u05de\u05b8\u05ea\u05b7\u05d9<\/strong><\/p>\n

So we start with the word \u05de\u05d0\u05d9\u05de\u05ea\u05d9. From when<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Mentioned the famous story of Reb Zusha who told Reb Shmelke that perhaps the translation of \u05de\u05d0\u05d9\u05de\u05ea\u05d9 means \u2018out of fear and awe of Hashem one needs to recite the \u05e9\u05de\u05e2\u2019!<\/p>\n

3 – Spoke about Ren Yechiel Halperin and his magnum opus the \u05e1\u05d3\u05e8<\/a> \u05d4\u05d3\u05d5\u05e8\u05d5\u05ea<\/a>. His mastery and instant recall of \u05db\u05dc \u05d4\u05ea\u05d5\u05e8\u05d4 \u05db\u05d5\u05dc\u05d4 is legendary and is considered the <\/u><\/em><\/strong>expert of Jewish history and chronology.\u00a0 See here<\/a>. He quotes from others that \u05de\u05d0\u05d9\u05de\u05ea\u05d9 is a Gematria of \u201cI Yehuda the Holy One’.\u00a0 However Reb Yechiel does not accept it, as it it contrary to the humility that \u05e8\u05d1\u05d9\u05e0\u05d5 \u05d4\u05e7\u05d3\u05d5\u05e9 is known for Sotah 49a<\/a>, Mishna.<\/p>\n

He brings from the AriZal that \u05de\u05d0\u05d9\u05de\u05ea\u05d9 is \u2018from the fear of the \u05de\u05d6\u05d9\u05e7\u05d9\u05dd we recite the \u05e9\u05de\u05e2\u00a0 for protection’.<\/p>\n

4 –<\/p>\n

\u05de\u05b4\u05e9\u05b8\u05bc\u05c1\u05e2\u05b8\u05d4 \u05e9\u05b6\u05c1\u05d4\u05b7\u05db\u05b9\u05bc\u05d4\u05b2\u05e0\u05b4\u05d9\u05dd \u05e0\u05b4\u05db\u05b0\u05e0\u05b8\u05e1\u05b4\u05d9\u05dd \u05dc\u05b6\u05d0\u05b1\u05db\u05b9\u05dc \u05d1\u05b4\u05bc\u05ea\u05b0\u05e8\u05d5\u05bc\u05de\u05b8\u05ea\u05b8\u05df<\/strong><\/p>\n

We touched upon the famous \u05de\u05d7\u05dc\u05d5\u05e7\u05ea between Rashi and his grandchildren on this topic.<\/p>\n

Rashi states clearly that before \u05e6\u05d0\u05ea \u05d4\u05db\u05d5\u05db\u05d1\u05d9\u05dd one cannot say \u05e7\u05e8\u05d9\u05d0\u05ea \u05e9\u05de\u05e2 and fulfill this \u05de\u05e6\u05d5\u05ea \u05e2\u05e9\u05d4 of \u05e9\u05de\u05e2.<\/p>\n

\u05de\u05e2\u05e8\u05d9\u05d1 is different as we will discuss in the future.<\/p>\n

So when Davening before \u05e6\u05d0\u05ea \u05d4\u05db\u05d5\u05db\u05d1\u05d9\u05dd (for whatever reason) one must repeat <\/strong>\u05e7\u05e8\u05d9\u05d0\u05ea \u05e9\u05de\u05e2 again. \u2018And that is why we say \u05e9\u05de\u05e2 before going to sleep\u2019.<\/p>\n

5 – What if there is only one Minyan in town and they Daven before \u05e6\u05d0\u05ea \u05d4\u05db\u05d5\u05db\u05d1\u05d9\u05dd?<\/p>\n

Now we have a choice: Daven with the\u00a0 Minyan (with \u05e9\u05de\u05e2) and after \u05e6\u05d0\u05ea say \u05e9\u05de\u05e2 again. Or, wait until \u05e6\u05d0\u05ea, then Daven \u05d1\u05d9\u05d7\u05d9\u05d3\u05d5\u05ea.<\/p>\n

What does one do?<\/p>\n
