2 – What\u2019s the relevance of this? Well, in addition to the opinion of Reb Eliezer that the end of the time one may say \u05e7\u05e8\u05d9\u05d0\u05ea \u05e9\u05de\u05e2 is at the conclusion of the first \u05de\u05e9\u05de\u05e8, the \u05d2\u05de\u05e8\u05d0 states that at these 3 \u05de\u05e9\u05de\u05e8\u05d5\u05ea Hashem \u2018raors like a lion and expresses regret for the \u05d7\u05d5\u05e8\u05d1\u05df\u2019.<\/p>\n

Rav Yitz\u1e25ak bar Shmuel said in the name of Rav: The night consists of three watches, and over each and every watch the Holy One, Blessed be He sits and roars like a lion,<\/strong> because the Temple service was connected to the changing of these watches (Tosefot HaRosh), and says: \u201cWoe to Me, that due to their sins I destroyed My house, burned My Temple and exiled them among the nations of the world.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>3 – <\/strong>We mentioned the \u05e8\u05d0\u201d\u05e9 who says that a person should emulate Hashem and at the end these 3 \u05de\u05e9\u05de\u05e8\u05d5\u05ea also lament the \u05d7\u05d5\u05e8\u05d1\u05df and pray for its rebuilding.<\/p>\n

One who arises to supplicate before his creator should aim for the hours when the heavenly watches are changing, which are at one-third of the night, and at the end of two-thirds of the night, and at the end of the night; for prayer which is offered at these times regarding the destruction [of the Temple] and regarding the exile is accepted.<\/em><\/p>\n

Interestingly, there is no mention in the Shulchan Aruch of \u05ea\u05d9\u05e7\u05d5\u05df \u05d7\u05e6\u05d5\u05ea. Even more surprising,\u00a0 the Alter Rebbe <\/a>does not mention it either in his Shulchan Aruch (but does in his Siddur).<\/p>\n

The \u05de\u05d2\u05df \u05d0\u05d1\u05e8\u05d4\u05dd quotes the \u05d6\u05d4\u05e8 where \u05ea\u05d9\u05e7\u05d5\u05df \u05d7\u05e6\u05d5\u05ea is indeed mentioned.<\/p>\n

However, as is known, the Alter Rebbe began to rewrite<\/em> his Shulchan Aruch, but unfortunately, all that reached us are just the first four \u05e1\u05d9\u05de\u05e0\u05d9\u05dd. And in the first \u05e1\u05d9\u05de\u05df of the \u05de\u05d4\u05d3\u05d5\u05e8\u05d0 \u05d1\u05ea\u05e8\u05d0 he brings the \u05de\u05d2\u05df \u05d0\u05d1\u05e8\u05d4\u05dd and the \u05d6\u05d4\u05e8 about the importance of \u05d7\u05e6\u05d5\u05ea and the importance of\u00a0 saying \u05ea\u05d9\u05e7\u05d5\u05df \u05d7\u05e6\u05d5\u05ea.<\/p>\n

5 – As an introduction the many interesting \u05d0\u05d2\u05d3\u05d5\u05ea\u00a0 in \u05de\u05e1\u05db\u05ea \u05d1\u05e8\u05db\u05d5\u05ea,\u00a0 we prefaced the importance of remembering that not everything is to be taken literally. There is much beneath the surface and one must dig and hope to find an explanation.<\/p>\n

We retold the\u00a0 \u05de\u05e9\u05dc of the Munkatcher Rebbe on this topic. A man who had a room with the walls especially painted with exquisite scenes of art, behind which lay hidden riches for his son to find. If he would just delve within, he would find the riches lying beneath.<\/p>\n

\"Art<\/p>\n

The classic example of the above are the many mentions in \u05e4\u05e1\u05d5\u05e7\u05d9\u05dd and \u05d7\u05d6\u05f4\u05dc\u00a0 that seem to imply that \u05d4\u05e7\u05d1\u05f4\u05d4\u00a0 has a physical body \u05d7\u05f4\u05d5.<\/p>\n

And indeed, sadly, there were some who actually believed this.<\/p>\n

We spoke at length about the \u05e8\u05de\u05d1\u05f4\u05dd ( in\u00a0 \u05ea\u05e9\u05d5\u05d1\u05d4<\/a> \u05d2, \u05d6) who waged a \u2018war\u2019 to uproot this belief. He labels anyone that believes so as a\u00a0 \u05de\u05d9\u05df!<\/p>\n

The \u05e8\u05d0\u05d1\u05f4\u05d3 strongly objects to this label. He writes that many great people believed this, and it was not their fault<\/strong>. They simple misunderstood some \u05d0\u05d2\u05d3\u05ea\u05d5\u05ea.<\/p>\n
