1- Recite a single blessing.<\/em><\/strong> The members of the priestly watch said either \u05d9\u05d5\u05e6\u05e8 \u05d0\u05d5\u05e8 or \u05d0\u05d4\u05d1\u05ea \u05e2\u05d5\u05dc\u05dd, and <\/strong>read the <\/em><\/p>\n

2-<\/em><\/strong> Ten Commandments, <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

3- Shema, VeHaya im Shamoa and VaYomer,<\/em><\/strong> the standard recitation of Shema. Additionally, they blessed the people<\/strong> with three blessings.<\/strong> These blessings were:\u00a0\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n

4<\/em><\/strong>– \u05d0\u05de\u05ea \u05d5\u05d9\u05e6\u05d9\u05d1 ,<\/strong> the blessing of redemption recited after Shema; Avoda,<\/strong> service, the special blessing recited over God\u2019s acceptance of the sacrifices with favor, similar to the blessing of Temple Service recited in the Amida prayer; and the priestly benediction,<\/strong> recited in the form of a prayer without the outstretched hands that usually accompany that blessing (Tosafot). And on <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

5 – On Shabbat\u00a0 one blessing is added to<\/em><\/strong> bless the outgoing priestly watch,<\/strong> as the watch serving in the Temple was replaced on Shabbat.<\/em><\/p>\n

2- We mentioned that the\u00a0 \u05d2\u05de\u05e8\u05d0 on the next page clarifies this last \u05d1\u05e8\u05db\u05d4 recited by the\u00a0 outgoing \u05de\u05e9\u05de\u05e8 to the incoming one.<\/p>\n

Rabbi Chelbo said:<\/em><\/strong> As they finished their service, the outgoing priestly watch would say to the incoming priestly watch: May He who caused His Name to dwell in this house cause love and brotherhood, peace and camaraderie to dwell among you.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>What is the meaning of this \u2018peace\u2019 \u05d1\u05e8\u05db\u05d4? How does it fit in here?<\/p>\n

4 – Our \u05d2\u05de\u05e8\u05d0 discusses the \u05e2\u05e9\u05e8\u05ea \u05d4\u05d3\u05d1\u05e8\u05d5\u05ea recited every day by the \u05de\u05e9\u05de\u05e8. It says that the \u05d7\u05db\u05de\u05d9\u05dd wanted to institute this also outside the \u05d1\u05d9\u05ea \u05d4\u05de\u05e7\u05d3\u05e9 but refrained from doing so to counter the Christians who would have proclaimed \u2018victory\u2019 over \u05db\u05dc\u05dc \u05d9\u05e9\u05e8\u05d0\u05dc. By reciting the \u05e2\u05e9\u05e8\u05ea \u05d4\u05d3\u05d1\u05e8\u05d5\u05ea daily it would seem that all have agreed that the \u05ea\u05d5\u05e8\u05d4 consists only of these \u2018Ten Commandments\u2019.<\/p>\n
